Sequoia – Hiking in the Rain and Through the Snow

Bob, Robyn and Rebecca took a 3 mile hike through the Sequoia groves.  It was not a pretty day for a hike and they were exhausted and HUNGRY when they finally returned. I stayed with the car and picked them up. I was so glad I did not go and so were they! Believe it or not they were glad they went.

They did manage to find some shelter. Can you believe those are cuts in downed trees. The Sequoias apparently don’t succumb to fire or insects much. About the only thing that gets them is to be blown down in high winds. They have an amazingly shallow root system.
