Bob and I are clearly woefully ignorant about southwestern CO as we had  never heard of this town.  However, as you can see in the pictures below, many folks from Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, etc. come here to have fun in the San Juan River. The boast is that these are the deepest hot springs in the world and clearly there are many of them in the area.  There is enough hot water pouring into this mountain lake to make it tepid in temperature.  We ate lunch under one of the red umbrellas in the right foreground of the first picture and watched the people play while we ate.  Very pleasant!  In the second picture you can see the umbrellas above the river where there were several hot springs pools. The chipmunks were totally unconcerned with all the human activity.
