No, I Didn’t Eat the Scorpion

We met a delightful and informative young woman pruning date palm trees at China Ranch. When we asked where we should eat in Tecopa/Hot Springs she told us her family owned the Bistro. So we had dinner there one evening. The food was quite good and we did opt for dessert but not the scorpion.  Apparently, this is a pudding with crumbled wafers (to look like sand) and a scorpion on the bottom. When asked, the owner said she now puts the scorpion on top because people complain they can’t find it. This is a real, food grade, dehydrated scorpion – ugh.
