We were looking for a cooler place to spend a few weeks (not too far from Northern VA) and found this spot in the Appalachian Mountains.  The altitude is not really high enough to change the daily high temperature much but it is a beautiful area.  Bob and I really like the old buildings in the historic downtown area.
