From our RV site we can walk to the confluence of the Cowlitz and Toutle Rivers (about 2 miles round trip). The Columbia River is not far away and the rivers flowing into it at this point are quite impressive.
The difference in the appearance of the water is where the Toutle River is flowing into and then being swept along in the flow of the larger Cowlitz.
The park is lovely except it sits between Hwy 5 (we are slightly above the level of the highway) and train tracks. The park is beautifully landscaped with many varieties of trees, shrubs and flowers. And the weather is great!
There are a number of “park models” in which people live fulltime (on the left in the picture above). These small houses are typically 399 square feet (or less). At 400 square feet one has to pay taxes as a house. Many of the ones we have seen in New Mexico have a loft that is not included in the square footage because one cannot stand up. Great place for the grandchildren to sleep, watch TV or whatever.
