Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge (May 26)

After Giant’s Causeway, we thought we’d try the rope bridge here. As you can see it was a long hike for a tired woman and a man with acrophobia just to cross a 20 meter (66 feet) bridge which is 30 meters (66 feet) above the water. It is on a beautiful little bay.

The path to the right leads to the bridge which is just below and to the right of the bird. Glad we didn’t make the hike.

The bridge from one vantage point.

And from another.

This huge block of concrete is actually a lime kiln. We were told that it is the largest in Ireland. It was lit (lighted) only once and never worked again because it was/is too large.

There is/was a lime quarry close to the beach.
