Today we boarded a United flight to London. We were there a little early and there was no one in the TSA Pre line (and many people in the TSA Peon lines) so we had a nice, comfy wait in a lovely gate waiting area (I assume a new area of SFO). The boarding procedure was amazingly smooth and quick. We were in B group for Premium Plus so we boarded with the first third of the plane. We got all the little goodies at our seat (blanket, pillow, travel kit containing toothbrushes and paste, ear plugs, eye masks, socks, lip balm and hand cream, as well as the little slippers). While still boarding the plane the two other women in Marilyn’s 3 seat row received champagne. I guess so as to not make Marilyn feel bad the flight attendant told her that those ladies were really not more special than she was. Marilyn agreed and told the attendant that she was special because it would be her birthday when we landed in London. Next thing she knew she had her own complementary champagne. Nice way to start the trip. Other than Marilyn’s seat not reclining (very little sleep for her) it was a smooth flight with two meals and a snack (forgotten how much they feed you on international flights). We landed more than an hour early! But that’s a story for the next day.
