On our way to Thurso and John o’Groats, we stopped in Lochinver — because who could pass up a town with that name? Besides, we had read that the Lochinver Larder had the best pies in all of Scotland. This may be true, but they are remodeling and it is almost impossible to find the entrance. When we finally did, the pies were worth it.
We also stopped to visit a pottery factory(?) and found this hard-to-resist living room set. Unfortunately, it wouldn’t fit in our backpacks.
Also found lots more gorse, a white sand beach with no swimmers, and some red and blue and yellow flowers that we could not name (except for the tulips).
