Bob and I had never been to Tucumcari, NM so we headed up Highway 54 (which apparently goes to Chicago but we didn’t take it that far). Liberal, KS is one of the windiest places we have been (and that is saying something after some of the winds in TX and NM). Bob said Dorothy didn’t need a tornado, the winds were enough. We ate one of the best Italian dinners either of us has ever enjoyed at Ruffino’s in Liberal. The homemade rolls and the garlic-basil dipping sauce were enough by themselves but we didn’t stop there. The salad was fresh and the entrees outstanding. If you ever get to Liberal, KS be sure to stop.
